TODD ANTHONY GRAYSON
Son / Brother / Uncle / Friend

A Mother's Memory
Todd Anthony Grayson, my fourth child and second Son was born on
December 27th 1963. He was named after one of the neighbor's boys. Their names were Kent and Todd. I said no to the name Kent because that was the name of a cigarette, so we named him Todd and included his Dad’s communion name - Anthony. He had a couple of nicknames growing up, Toddy Boy and Little Man.

Some things he liked as a young boy was his big wheel, and he also
liked the Fonz from Happy Days, he would imitate him all the time. He had
guppies he was crazy about ! He once dropped them while he was cleaning
the bowl. I remember we had to scramble to get them back into the bowl.
He was so scared they were going to die.
Todd’s favorite holidays were Christmas and Halloween. Todd loved music all of his life. He liked cereal and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. He was kind of a picky eater.Todd’s favorite dinner meal was a leg of lamb, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes and greens. I cooked that meal on Sunday, November 11, 1990.
Todd never made it home to eat it. He was shot several times by a Carson
Deputy Sheriff. Todd died on November 12, 1990. He was unarmed. It is
the worst thing that I have ever had to go through in my life. Myself, and my
family were devastated. I love him. I miss him. There is not a day I don’t
think about Todd. He was only 26 yrs old when he was killed.
I wish that Todd had a child that way I would have a part of him here with me.
